FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about Aloe Vera and Medline's Aloetouch Exam Gloves

1) How does Aloe Vera help combat against dry, irritated skin?
Aloe Vera acts as a natural moisturizer which works to hydrate and bathe your skin.

2) How does the aloe work in Aloetouch gloves?
The Aloetouch gloves retain Medline’s patented freeze-dried aloe lining.  When you put on an Aloetouch glove, the aloe is re-hydrated, bathing your hands in the natural moisturizer.

3) How can I be sure that the aloe inside every glove is pure?
Aloetouch® exam gloves are the only gloves bestowed the “Seal of Certification” from the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) confirming that the aloe vera gel in Aloetouch® gloves meets the highest standards for product purity, thereby providing 100% of aloe vera’s natural benefits.

4) How is the aloe in the glove activated?
The aloe coating inside the glove is activated by the natural moisture of the hand.

5) What is AQL and why is this important?
Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) – Set by the FDA at 4.0 (the smaller number the better) as the maximum allowable defects per 1000 gloves. In order to test for defects, gloves are filled up with water and hung upside down for extended periods of time and then examined for leakage.  Medline requires the Aloetouch gloves to meet an AQL of 2.5, exceeding FDA required levels.

6) What is the viral penetration test?
The viral penetration test determines if a glove forms an effective barrier against one of the smallest measurable viruses in the world, Phi-X174.  If the glove is a barrier to the phi-X174 virus, it also forms a barrier against larger viruses such as hepatitis B and C and the AIDS virus.

ALL OF MEDLINE’S EXAMINATION GLOVES HAVE PASSED THE VIRAL PENETRATION TEST!
